Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Tactical Recon and Strike (TRS) team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. The team is responsible for taking products like Ghost, Bolt, Anvil, and Altius from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. The TRS Business Planning team is a small but mighty team of business generalists who ‘solve for scale’ the specific business problems that hamper efficiency or productivity.

Anduril's TRS Division Business Planning team is seeking an Analyst candidate. We are responsible for driving revenue generation across the business by improving operational efficiency, informing business strategy, and delivering data-driven insights. This role requires cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product, business development, finance, and program execution teams. Given our rapid growth and the uniquely challenging problems we tackle as a business, this role will naturally gravitate toward finding solutions and will be adept at navigating organizational hurdles. The ability to build trust quickly in a fast-paced environment and execute with high dependability is critical to success in this role.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Business Planning team at TRS has two primary responsibilities:

1) Business Planning owns and maintains the accuracy and currency of the division’s near and long-term forecast. We partner with Growth to ensure a holistic pipeline approach to forecasting that captures the nuance and complexity of competitive pursuits. We develop and present business case analyses for bid/no-bid decisions and support market and product analyses for division portfolio expansion efforts. We work cross-functionally with multiple teams to improve operational processes and building in the data-capture and analytics-reporting muscle to ensure changes for the long term.

2) Special projects. We are frequently pulled into high priority problems that must be solved, but do not fall neatly into the purview of an existing person’s job description. Our team is one of the first to get tapped when a messy problem needs solving.

Much of the time, both of these go hand-in-hand.

As a Business Planning Analyst, you will be critical to supporting both of these responsibilities. While the Division Business Planning team will be your team, you will often be embedded in the business lines within TRS, working cross-functionally with leaders and teams throughout the organization to solve problems with unclear solutions, set up new processes, capture data, action upon it, and enable others to do the same.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Collaborate with Growth, Proposals, Execution, Engineering, and Product teams to enhance Anduril's forecasting of product, labor, and O&M capture for new capture efforts, ensuring accurate and efficient resource forecasting.
  • Work deeply within Salesforce, becoming intimately familiar with how our business lines forecast and plan demand. You’ll drive ownership and discipline amongst multiple teams in maintaining data currency, while gaining deal-by-deal familiarity in order to step in and support updates in real-time.
  • Learn how to leverage data in and out of Salesforce to create insights and analytics (leveraging tools like Excel, Palantir Foundry, etc.), equipping functional teams with these insights and tools to measure and improve their processes and enabling downstream planning.
  • Support our corporate planning cycle by helping to build out and monitor performance against goals, financial plans, and headcount plans so we can hit our aggressive growth targets
  • Work with Anduril’s demand planning teams to enable the Division to monitor and optimize the demand vs supply of production
  • Execute scrappy analyses on short-timelines to get answers quickly, while also owning more scalable solutions that will make Anduril successful in the long term
  • Project manage across many stakeholders. If you don’t like being the person leading meetings with large groups of people or managing large Slack channels to wrangle stakeholders towards a solution, this may not be the role for you
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to refine and enhance reporting capabilities, driving strategic planning and supporting informed decision-making.
  • Employ advanced data analytics to distill complex information into compelling narratives that guide strategic choices.
  • Proactively identify and address recurring business challenges, leveraging quantitative analysis to drive innovative, sustainable process improvements.
  • Develop compelling, clear, and thoughtful presentations to leadership.
  • Support the growth team by applying quantitative methods to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • You’re highly analytical and love solving complex, cross-functional problems in a people centric way
  • You’re both high ownership and low ego, approaching everything with strong outcome orientation and high humility
  • You’re highly detail oriented and data-driven
  • You’re discerning and an incredibly fast learner
  • You’re tactical and don’t only sit at a 30,000 foot level
  • You have 1-4 years of varied experience in an operating role at a high-growth technology company, starting a venture, or in finance or consulting
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Project management experience including: requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, deployment, training, and delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and data analytics, with a proven ability to leverage large datasets to generate actionable business insights.
  • Aptitude for rapid learning and assimilating new information to swiftly become proficient in unfamiliar subject areas and technologies.
  • Proven track record of being self-driven and relentlessly proactive. You don’t wait on others to solve problems, you proactively step into the gap to propose solutions yourself.
  • Ownership mentality with a natural bias to assume responsibility. We empower our team to quickly assume high levels of responsibility and entrust them to actively own projects and shape their success.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience working with Salesforce strongly preferred.
  • Experience with advanced Excel modeling; familiarity with programming languages such as Python for data analysis and modeling is a plus.
