WHAT IS AIS?
Anduril Intelligence Systems (AIS) is focused on positioning Anduril as a lead provider of specialized engineering and products for Intelligence Community (IC) customers. We work within the IC to understand their requirements, shape their concepts of operation, and deliver exquisite capability across their problem set. We aim to develop and deploy critically needed capabilities that address our customers’ most pressing national security requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Anduril is seeking an engineering leader to join a group of amazingly talented people focused on delivering mission outcomes through technology. You will help lead the delivery of high stakes, high profile, complex customer programs while strengthening our engineering and program-specific capabilities across the business line.

This is a technical role for a strong engineering leader who will be accountable for production-ready high-scale systems. This person will oversee engineers who build custom hardware and software solutions, connecting sensors and data spanning multiple domains and forces across a dynamic battle-space.

WHO YOU ARE:

We are looking for someone who has experience designing → building → and delivering complex customer programs requiring both technical knowledge and leadership skills to set objectives, build teams, and drive projects to completion. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience to deliver highly complex, optimized, multi-disciplinary products and programs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead, manage, and execute new and existing large technical programs from conceptual design through technology development, system integration, testing and deployment while managing potentially a large team of engineers (currrently less than 10, growing to around 30 internally, plus interfacing with customer POCs)
  • Work hands-on with hardware for purposes of test, evaluation, and integration, while interfacing with and integrating third-party systems and APIs
  • Lead and mentor teams of engineers while working cross-functionally across partnered teams
  • Embody a mission-oriented attitude with the desire to work on critical software and own solutions that yield a real-world impact as they are deployed to customers
  • Write code. You will be expected to lead a team of software engineers and must have working familiarity with one or more programming languages (our stack includes C, C++, Go/Golang, Scala, Python, numpy, pandas, and TypeScript/JavaScript) with ability to review work across complex, distributed systems
  • Lead the vision, strategy, design, architecture and implementation for large scale distributed data systems which ingest, process and make sense of exabytes of data, distributed globally, and lead the development of software systems to enhance how this data is used to solve mission problems
  • Lead software engineering teams to develop new and enhanced approaches to visualizing and operating systems that work with security, cyber, accreditation and signal data in real time and modeling / simulation scenarios
  • Work with experts to build systems that can operate connected and disconnected, support denied, degraded, and intermittent communication links, operated and be fleet managed centrally, and operate with high levels of availability and resiliency
  • Own the technical success of your programs, establish technical vision assemble teams of internal and external subject matter experts, and communicate that vision to them. These teams would include engineers directly under your control and subject matter experts in other engineering teams
  • Optimize delivery for the business line by developing a thorough understanding of customer objectives and proposing innovative solutions both internally with Anduril engineers and externally with customers
  • Establish a long-term roadmap for the continued success of a portfolio of programs
  • Manage a portfolio of technology-driven programs that span major customer/capital spend AND/OR unpaid, self-funded IRAD to advance an objective, or support customer exercises
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure resource plans are adequate for work scope while developing a transitional plan to take products from R&D to production

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience engaging directly with customers at an executive level (i.e., executive gravitas) while leading high-profile engineering programs
  • Experience being technically hands-on, able to dig into technical details, while also commanding high level strategy
  • Experience managing programs and leaders across government, services, commands, AND/OR countries
  • Experience building and leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Track record of transitioning to production from R&D
  • Managed major customer/capital spend on programs that required a large team (10+) of engineers
  • Must have an active United States Top Secret security clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
US Salary Range
$168,000$342,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
