Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
Anduril is developing a fleet of autonomous robots to tackle the most significant security challenges faced by America and her allies. The distributed communications team develops infrastructure that allows these robots to communicate with each other over a globally connected mesh network. Infrastructure that the team works on include an inter-asset, distributed message bus and its accompanying features, including optimized routing algorithms, prioritized message scheduling, and useful QoS options.
Our software must function in highly dynamic and adversarial environments where nodes utilize varying types of physical links and protocols, have frequently changing network topologies, and have inconsistent link quality. Our software runs on embedded systems, and must be highly compute- and memory-conscious. The team’s challenge is to provide networking infrastructure that meets our high standards of reliability and speed given these stringent constraints.
